Easy Filipino Recipes

With so much to offer, like the fatty pork adobo, the festive menudo, and the iconic sweet spaghetti, to name a few, I really don’t get why Filipino food doesn’t get talked about more.

There are so many incredible dishes to explore. And a lot of them are surprisingly easy to make at home.

This roundup includes some of my favorite Filipino recipes, from juicy garlic butter steak bites and luscious leche flan to my mom’s special dumplings that I swear are even more addictive than lumpia. I’m willing to bet you’ll love them just as much as I do.

 Filipino Spaghetti

1. Filipino Spaghetti

If you’ve ever been to a Filipino party, you already know it is not a party without Filipino spaghetti. It’s sweet, savory, and loaded with hotdogs and cheese, made that way to match the Filipino palate, especially for kids. It might sound weird, but don’t knock it till you try it!

Pork Adobo

2. Pork Adobo with Sprite

This is my go-to twist on a classic. I use my special version with Sprite, which helps tenderize the pork faster and adds a subtle sweetness that balances the rich, umami flavor of soy sauce. It’s bold, garlicky, and one of those Filipino dinner recipes that tastes even better the next day.

Pork Siomai

3. Filipino Pork Siomai

Siomai are Filipino-style steamed dumplings, filled with seasoned pork and shrimp. They’re juicy and flavorful, especially dipped in soy sauce with calamansi and chili oil. This is my mom’s special recipe, and yes, I think it’s even more addictive than lumpia. Fight me.

Beef Salpicao

4. Beef Salpicao (Filipino Garlic Butter Steak Bites)

If you love garlic butter steak bites, you’re going to love this even more. It is richer, more garlicky, and just more flavorful overall, because Filipinos know flavor. It sounds fancy, but it’s actually one of those easy to cook Filipino recipes you can pull off anytime.

Pork Menudo

5. Pork Menudo

Just look at how festive this dish is. It’s colorful, festive, and filled with hearty bites of pork, potatoes, carrots, and hot dogs in every spoonful. It’s the perfect way to make an ordinary day a little more exciting.

Filipino Picadillo

6. Filipino Picadillo Recipe

This easy Filipino picadillo recipe is an easy, comforting meal you can throw together anytime. Ground beef, potatoes, and a savory tomato sauce come together into a hearty, flavorful dish perfect for busy nights.

pichi pichi

7. Pichi Pichi

If you like mochi, you’re going to love pichi pichi. It has that fun, slightly chewy texture that almost melts in your mouth. It’s lightly sweet and coated in cheese, which adds the perfect salty contrast.

Filipino Leche Flan

8. Filipino Leche Flan

The Filipino version of flan is made richer with egg yolks and condensed milk, giving it an extra creamy, silky texture. It’s smooth, silky, and incredibly indulgent. You might end up eating the whole llanera (mold) yourself. Consider yourself warned.
