These air fryer buffalo wings have a crispy golden coating and a buttery spicy buffalo sauce. They’re just as crispy and juicy as deep fried wings without all the extra grease.

Ingredients

For the wings and coating
  • 2 dozen chicken wings
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil spray
For the buffalo sauce
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup hot sauce such as Frank’s RedHot
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels. Season with salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Let the wings sit for at least 20 minutes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Dredge the wings in the mixture until evenly coated. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes so the coating can hydrate.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, hot sauce, honey or brown sugar, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Taste the sauce and add salt if needed. Set aside.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with oil. Arrange the wings in a single layer, then spray the tops with more oil.
  5. Air fry the wings at 370°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Increase the heat to 450°F and air fry for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
  6. Transfer the wings to a large bowl and toss with the buffalo sauce until evenly coated. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
