Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying
  • 14 cloves garlic about 1 large head, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter divided
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon powder
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the beef, cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well, then marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often, until golden brown and crisp. Remove the garlic and set aside. Leave a little garlic oil in the pan.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon butter to the pan. Add the mushrooms and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes, or until browned and softened. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to the pan. Stir in the beef bouillon powder until it melts into the butter and garlic oil.
  5. Add the marinated beef and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring often, until browned and cooked through.
  6. Add the mushrooms back to the pan along with ¾ of the crispy garlic. Mix well.
  7. Pour in water. Stir and simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  8. Top with the remaining crispy garlic and serve over rice. Enjoy!
